Lookin' fine in design. Trends for 2019.

Tired design can be the death of a brand, so keeping abreast of creative and design trends is key to keeping brands fresh and attractive to target markets. We look to the place where creativity, photography and design meet, Shutterstock, to shed some light on what’s hot in terms of design trends.

We’re seeing less of a penchant for good taste, and more of an inclination towards individualism as expressed through bright colours, cartoon faces, animal patterns that echo past trends (think snake skin and leopard) and the exploration of art forms and subculture.

Wait, what? We know. Sounds kind of awful, but looks pretty darn cool. Check out the search trends pulled from Shutterstock’s data below. The randomness throughout, bold inclusions and distracting designs serve as a reminder as to how loud and lively design can be. Let’s take a leaf out of the most daring designers’ books and have a little fun!
